How these passages work
Every passage is written to sit inside one HSK level: the build checks each word against the HSK 3.0 word list and reports how much of the text is within the level. Words above the level are listed separately as the handful of new words you are meant to pick up.
The pinyin is generated from the same data that powers the rest of the site, so the readings match the HSK word lists, the character pages and the pinyin chart. Words you do not know can be saved to your study list straight from the vocabulary list at the bottom of each passage.
