Your progress

A summary of everything you have saved and practised here — how big your study list is, how many cards are due, how much of it has stuck, and which words keep catching you out. It is all computed from this browser's local storage: no account, nothing uploaded.

Where these numbers come from

Nothing here is measured on a server, because there is no server holding your data. Every figure on this page is derived from three things your browser keeps: your saved vocabulary list, the practice rounds you have finished, and the pronunciation scores you have recorded.

Mastery means an interval

A card is not marked known because you tapped “Easy” once. It counts as mature only after its review interval has stretched past 21 days — the same threshold spaced repetition software has used for years.

The forecast is your schedule

Bars show how many cards come back on each of the next seven days. A tall bar tomorrow means today was a light review day, not that something went wrong.

Pronunciation scores are per item

Shadowing keeps only your best score and how many times you recorded each word or sentence — the recordings themselves never leave the page. “Average best” is therefore how well you read these items on your best attempt, not how good your first attempt was.

Missed words are rebuilt, not stored twice

Practice history records question numbers, so the words you tripped over are looked up again from the question bank every time you open this page. If a word is in your study list, it is marked as such.
